Las Cruces Events, NM Sunset Stroll, Downtown Ramble and Summer Full Moon

Sunset Stroll

June 1st- August 5th

Location: Starts at sign along the Dunes Drive at White Sands National Monument

Price: $3

Time: One hour before sunset which would probably be around 7:00 PM

A leisurely one-hour ranger-guided walk. Experience sunset over the white sands and see the plants and animals of the dune field. A photographer's delight.

The Dust Bowl: Dark Times in New Mexico

June 1st-August 21st

Price: $5

Location: 4100 Dripping Springs Road

Time: Monday - Saturday 9 am - 5 pm, Sunday Noon - 5 pm

This will be in the Traditions Gallery through Aug. 21, 2011. Through the use of text, dramatic photographs, and oral histories, visitors are introduced to a story that came to symbolize the despair of the Great Depression Era.

Downtown Ramble

June 3rd and every first Friday of the month

Price: Free

Location: Downtown Mall

Time: 5-7pm

Do the Main Street Downtown Ramble through galleries, shops, businesses and restaurants. Enjoy art openings, exhibits, music, entertainment, open mic opportunities, shopping, refreshments and more.

Full Moon Nights Program

July 15th

Price: $3

Time: 8:30 PM

Location: White Sands Monument

Listen to music, learn about desert wildlife, or see the beauty of the dunes by moonlight.

Ciclovia Health Event

July 31st

Location: Young Park, 1905 E. Nevada Avenue

3rd Annual Antiques - Collectibles - Crafts Show and Sale

August 13th-14th

Location: University United Methodist Church, 2000 S. Locust Street

University United Methodist Women’s hosts a show and sale of antiques, homemade food, crafts, jewelry and a silent auction featuring items from local artists.

White Sands International Film Festival

August 25th-27th

Location, time, and price: TBA
Intended to screen outstanding short and feature length documentaries and narratives of all genres from around the world, but also retain a special focus on Latino and New Mexican film-making, as well as celebrate outstanding cinema that has been shot in the amazing back drop of Southern New Mexico.
