December 6, 2008 - Southern Pines Reindeer Fun Run - The Second Annual Southern Pines Reindeer Fun Run (5k Run/Walk )is a FUN community event with a goal of 600 participants ranging from serious runners to recreational walkers, families, pets and local businesses. The goal is to generate holiday cheer while raising money for the Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills, Inc. For more information contact David Petsolt at (910) 693-4006.

December 13, 2008 - Christmas Horse Carriage Parade - Time to be determined. The Moore County Driving Club decorates their horses and carriages for Christmas and drives them through the historic district in downtown Southern Pines. Broad Street, Southern Pines. December 13, 2008 - Early American Christmas - AN EARLY AMERICAN CHRISTMAS AT MALCOLM BLUE FARM. Sat. 11am-4pm. 1825 Farmhouse is decorated with greenery. Experience Christmas through an 18th century child’s eyes. Watch children in period dress open their stockings, decorate the tree, make pastry and get ready for bedtime. Artisans will be on site with a collection of beautiful handmade products for sale.
