Monica Surfaro Spigelman is a boomer who left East Coast big city life three years ago to settle in the southwest. She wanted to touch the earth instead of watching it pass by her skyscraper window. Surrounded by “sky island” mountain ranges, national parks, Native American reservations and the Sonoran Desert, Tucson was a perfect choice.
