The Great American Dollhouse Museum in Danville, Kentucky

In October of 2008, The Great American Dollhouse Museum celebrated its Grand Opening in Danville, Kentucky. A social history museum in miniature, it is one of the largest dollhouse museums in the country, displaying over 200 furnished and populated miniature houses. The houses are arranged intimelines and villages to educate and highlight areas of historical significance.

The Museum renovated a 1939 Works Progress Administration National Guard Armory to showcase its collections. A two-acre park with picnicking surrounds the building.

The Great American Dollhouse Museum has established itself as a favorite visiting place for seniors, and is a regular destination for boomer groups. It was
recently named one of Kentucky's 101 Must-See places to visit by Gary P. West in his new book Visiting Kentucky: 101 Must-See Places, to be released nationally in October of 2009.
