18th Annual Cowboy Days in Las Cruces

The Museum's largest event of the year pays tribute to the state's ranching traditions. Enjoy two days of cowboy demonstrations, chuck wagon cooking, activities for the children, cowboy music, stagecoach and pony rides, gunfight re-enactments and much more.

Las Cruces Farmers & Crafts Market

The Las Cruces Farmers & Crafts Market is open every Wednesday and Saturday morning from 8:30 am - 1 pm on Main Street in downtown Las Cruces. The market specializes in locally hand-crafted items and seasonal local produce.

The Wednesday Market is a smaller, more laid back version of the Saturday market. Plenty of lunch options and a chance to see some of the artists do what they do best, create.

Pops Under the Stars Outdoor Concert in Las Cruces

An outdoor concert featuring popular music performed by the Las Cruces Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Lonnie Klein, music director/conductor. The venue will be the Pressley Askew Baseball Field on the campus of NMSU. An array of food and beverages will be available, including beer and wine, before and throughout the concert.

New Mexico State University Presley Askew Field, corner of Stewart and Payne. Gates open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 8 pm. Open seating and tickets: Adults $10, Ages 6 - 18 $5, 5 and under free. 575-646-3709.

Cheryl Cathcart: In a World of Horses Exhibit in Las Cruces

Thirty-two beautiful photographs of horses from the U.S. and Europe and featured in this show. Cheryl Cathcart's images capture the powers, beauty and spirit of horses in New Mexico and Montana, as well as France, Italy and Portugal. The show, which will be in the Museum's North Corridor, continues through October 26, 2015. A reception with the photographer is 5:30 to 7 pm on January 8, with a lecture to follow. Ronald Kil: Spanning the Range Exhibit in Las Cruces

The colorful, historical Western art of Santa Fe artist Ronald Kil is featured in a new exhibit to open on April 17. The show includes 30 works that are historical in nature that span wide-reaching boundaries - from the paleo Indian hunters of 7,000 B.C. to the cowpunchers of the 1920s. He works in oil, watercolor and ink, and was chosen to illustrate the official State Centennial Calendar in 2012. A former ranch cowboy, he became a full-time artist and illustrator in 2001. While the official opening is April 17, there will be an artist's reception from 6-8 p.m. on April 16. Admission to the reception that evening is free and will include refreshments. The show will be in the Museum's Arts Corridor through Aug. 2, 2015.

Annual Frontier Days in Las Cruces

Take a trip back in time with a visit to Fort Selden State Monument as they honor the civilians and soldiers who lived at the fort and protected the residents of the Mesilla Valley after the Civil War.
