Heritage Theatre Festival in Charlottesville - Shear Madness

Looking for an evening where the scissors are sharp and the comedy is sharper? Get ready for the Charlottesville debut of a record-breaking comedy sensation. For more than 25 years, millions of audience members have been sucked into the ever-shifting comedic vortex of this uproarious tale of law and disorder, becoming armchair detectives tackling a murder above the Shear Madness unisex hairstyling salon. Thanks to up-to-the-minute improvisational humor, no two shows are ever the same, adding to the magic of one of the longest-running sensations in theatre history.

Since 1974, the Heritage Theatre Festival has been in residence during the summer months as the University of Virginia's professional theatre. Leading directors, designers, technicians, and actors from across the country form the company each year to produce a season of musicals and plays. The summer 2014 season includes, Throughly Modern Millie, Shear Madness, Avenue Q, One Man Two Guvnors, and An Evening with Groucho.
