Berries and Bananas Lower Blood Pressure

Journal of Clinical Hypertension says people taking the recommended daily amount of 4,700 milligrams of potassium decreased their systolic blood pressure (the top number) by up to six points and their diastolic by up to four points which researchers say could lower heart disease risk by 15 percent. Potassium increases blood levels of nitric oxide which dialates arteries and prevents them from becoming clogged. Be sure and add bananas, strawberries, spinach, tuna, halibut and cod to your diet.
